Not much is known about the woman who calls herself Corwyn. She rarely talks about herself, never gives a last name. Often energetic and excitable, she only occasionally seems to stop talking, and yet never seems to say much at all. Originally from the nation of Albast, the black haired woman hails from an unnamed village on the outskirts of the territory, one known to have produced some of the finest mages, sorcerers, and other practitioners of the magical arts, supposedly. She herself is a skilled magician, able to weave spells with surprising potency and power. When drunk, she’s spoken of family – a mother and a sister – but largely just talks of the stupid people she’s met in her life, which somehow sometimes includes herself. Most questions of where she comes from, who she knows are deflected with idle muses and flirting, giving away to anger if pressed further.

Unlike other mages, she possesses an unusual focus for her abilities – a flintlock pistol, an ornate device with a silver coated handle that possesses an etching of a blooming rose and a barrel that shows woodburnings resembling thorned vines. Supposedly a gift to her, she calls herself the first “spellslinger”, combining her gunplay with destructive and unpredictable magical abilities – a skill largely unheard of among mages.

More than willing to regale any companions she may have with tales of adventuring or work for hire she may or may not have actually experienced with enthusiasm, sometimes accompanying her tales with song and music. But behind this carefree attitude there is a grim seriousness to much she does, and dangerous ruthlessness to her actions, particularly when she finds herself or anyone she is traveling with threatened. She displays no compunction for killing when necessary, and is prone to outbursts of anger and rage at seemingly random provocations. Her lackadaisical attitude often falls away when danger presents itself, and she has been known to become particularly violent when faced with other spellcasters in particular. If she holds a grudge about something or just hates other mages is unknown – but she always whispers something to them before executing them, and if unsatisfied with the answer, well… that’s what the gun is for.

She doesn’t seem to have heard an answer she liked yet.

Standing just about halfway between five and six feet, Corwyn is otherwise an unremarkable woman. Often dressed in red and green, black hair frames pale skin and emerald eyes. Besides her pistol, far and away the most stand out feature on her person is the tattoo on the back of her left hand – a six point star. Often hidden by sleeves, on her right forearm, an unusual burn that appears to be “EE” also stands out to those who manage to glimpse it. She also keeps a pet marten, which seems endlessly loyal to her. It stays hidden most times, but she seems to enjoy the odd sort of companionship her little friend provides.

She is at all times accompanied by a small marten that can usually be found curled up on her shoulders or sleeping in her bag, or trying to instigate a playful activity with it’s owner. It is a loyal creature, and while it can do little to actually protect it’s master, it is ferocious when it looks as though harm will come to Corwyn, and always seems to be there when she needs a friend. She can sometimes be caught talking to the small creature as though it was anyone else… it’s unknown if it communicates back in any form, or is just allowing it’s master an ignorant ear. The creature does seem highly intelligent, though, able to follow simple and surprisingly complex instructions, though still only within the power of a small animal. It responds to the name “Zibeline”, or “Zi” for short.
